This application is only to be used to apply for a salesperson license by Reciprocity or Non-Reciprocity.

Important: New York has terminated our reciprocal agreement. New York applicants may apply by non-reciprocity. Please review the non-reciprocity license requirements prior to completing this application.

DO NOT COMPLETE THIS APPLICATION UNLESS YOU HAVE AN ACTIVE SALESPERSON LICENSE ISSUED BY EXAMINATION IN ANOTHER STATE.

Please be sure you have read and understood all licensing, renewal and CE requirements, rules and regulations available on our website: www.ct.gov/dcp, prior to completing this application. Application fees are non-refundable.

All applicants must meet the following requirements to complete this online application:
  • Have an ACTIVE license in good standing in another state; and,
  • Have passed a written examination in that state prior to obtaining the license.
To complete this application you must have the following available to upload it to this application:
  • A certified license history/verification received from each state in which you currently hold or have ever held a real estate license. The license history must confirm you have an active license and include how and when you received your license and that you do not have any disciplinary action in that state.
  • Salespersons applying by reciprocity from the following states: Alabama, Colorado, Georgia, Massachusetts, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Rhode Island must be sponsored by a CT licensed broker and upload the Salesperson Sponsoring Broker Form.
  • If you have been convicted of a felony or convicted of a crime including, but not limited, to forgery, embezzlement, obtaining money under false pretenses, extortion, criminal conspiracy to defraud or any life offenses, you must complete the Criminal Conviction Review Worksheet. This worksheet must be accompanied by specified details.
Failure to provide this office with the required documentation and information will result in a significant delay in the processing of your application.

Note: All salesperson licenses expire annually on May 31st. All new license applications received and approved prior to March 1st will have an expiration date of May 31st of this year. License fees are not prorated.
